Going 6L look for a k2500 in the yards that was hooked to a 6.0 for the nv4500. For an LQ9 I think you are looking for Escalade or Denali donars. Decide what transmission you want to use, current, 4L60 or 6l80 or 8l90 and that will determine what year donor vehicle you go after. I used a 5.3 and 6l90 in my swap...but it identifies as a 6l80. Any 1999-2013 LS style truck motor will fit but you won't be able to pass using a 2500 truck motor.West Bend dyno told us that the starting price is around $4,500 for a complete long block. Typically, the price will go up from there based on your needs. While the LS engines are relatively affordable, you’re not going to be able to build a reliable 1,000 horsepower engine for a few thousand dollars. I have a stock 5.3, with stock manifolds.
